How to add a domain on our cPanel hosting

Step 1: Access Your cPanel Account

  1. Open your web browser and enter the URL for cPanel provided by Us. It's should be in the format https://yourdomain.com:2083, where "yourdomain.com" is your website's domain. (or through our client portal)
  2. Log in with your cPanel username and password. If you don't have this information, contact Gander Web support.

Step 2: Navigate to the Addon Domains Section

  1. Once you're logged in, you'll find a dashboard with various icons and options. Look for the "Domains" section or a similar label, and click on it.

Step 3: Add an Addon Domain

  1. In the "Domains" section, you should see an option for "Addon Domains." Click on this option to begin the process of adding a new domain.

Step 4: Fill in Domain Details

  1. In the "Addon Domains" section, you will be prompted to enter the following information:
    • New Domain Name: Enter the domain name you want to add as an addon domain (e.g., "mynewdomain.com").
    • Subdomain: cPanel will automatically populate this field based on the new domain name. You can typically leave it as is.
    • Document Root: cPanel will automatically create a suggested directory name for the new domain. You can customize this if needed, but it's usually best to keep it as suggested.
    • Password: You can choose to set a password for this addon domain if you want to create a separate FTP account for it.

Step 5: Add the Addon Domain

  1. After filling in the domain details, click the "Add Domain" button. cPanel will validate your domain and create the necessary settings.

Step 6: Update DNS Records

  1. If your domain is registered with a different provider, you'll need to update the DNS records to point to our cpanel server unless you are using our nameserver's.
  2.  Or you can update DNS records at your domain registrar's website.

Step 7: Upload Your Website

  1. Now that you've added the addon domain, you can upload your website files to the specified document root directory, which is typically something like /public_html/mynewdomain.com.
  2. You can use FTP or the cPanel File Manager to upload your website files.

Step 8: Test Your Website

  1. Wait for DNS propagation, which may take a few hours to a couple of days. Once it's complete, you can access your new website by entering the domain name (e.g., "http://mynewdomain.com") in your web browser.

Congratulations! You've successfully added an addon domain to your cPanel web hosting account. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact our customer support for help.
