Email on your own domain
A 100 GB Exchange mailbox per person (Microsoft doubled it from 50 GB in 2026), so you send as [email protected] instead of a Gmail or BT address. Spam and malware filtering is built in.
Shared inboxes at no extra cost
info@, accounts@ and sales@ can be shared mailboxes that several people read and reply from. They don't need a licence of their own.

Chat, channels and file sharing for the whole team, on desktop, browser and phone.
Video meetings
Teams meetings with up to 300 attendees, including people outside your business who join from a link.
1 TB of OneDrive each
Every user gets a terabyte of cloud storage that syncs to their laptop and phone, with version history if something gets overwritten.

What a normal day looks like
Your team signs in once with their work email. Mail, chat, meetings and files all hang off that one account, on any computer or phone.
The one thing Basic doesn't do
Business Basic has no installed desktop Office apps. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook run in the browser and on phones and tablets. The web versions open and edit ordinary .docx and .xlsx files, and for letters, quotes, price lists and email they're fine.
Where they fall short is heavy Excel work (macros, Power Pivot, very large workbooks), complex mail merges, and working on a laptop with no internet connection. If one person in your team does that, give them Business Standard and keep everyone else on Basic. Licences are per person, so you don't have to upgrade the whole business. What works for Outlook on Basic, app by app.

Is it right for you?
A good fit for
- Teams of 1 to 300 who mostly work in a browser or on their phones
- Businesses moving off free Gmail, BT or ISP email onto their own domain
- Sole traders and trades who need a professional address and a shared calendar
- Anyone paying for desktop Office who only ever opens it to read attachments
Pick something else if
- Someone needs desktop Excel (macros, Power Pivot, big data sets). Give that person Business Standard. You can mix licences in one account.
- You need laptops locked down and managed centrally. That's Business Premium, with Intune and Defender.
- You only need email, nothing else. cPanel email with web hosting from £2.50 a month covers the whole account, not per mailbox.

How much is Microsoft 365 Business Basic?
£6.48 per user per month on an annual plan, or £7.78 on a rolling monthly plan. There's no VAT to add, because we're not VAT registered. You pay for the people who sign in, and shared mailboxes such as info@ don't need a licence.
What's included in Business Basic?
A 100 GB business mailbox on your own domain, Microsoft Teams for chat and meetings, 1 TB of OneDrive storage per user, SharePoint, and the web and mobile versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Does Business Basic include desktop Office apps?
No. That's the main difference from Business Standard. You get the browser versions and the phone and tablet apps, not installed Word, Excel or Outlook on a Windows PC or Mac.
Can I mix Business Basic and Business Standard?
Yes. Licences are per person, so the office manager who lives in Excel can have Standard while everyone else stays on Basic. We'll set it up that way if it saves you money.
Do shared mailboxes like info@ need their own licence?
No. A shared mailbox up to 50 GB doesn't need a licence. The people who read it each need one, which they already have.
Can you move our existing email across?
Yes. We migrate mailboxes, contacts and calendars from Gmail, Google Workspace, GoDaddy, 123 Reg, cPanel hosting and most other providers, and we time the switch so you don't lose mail in between.
Is Business Basic good value for small teams?
For teams who mostly work in a browser, yes. It's the cheapest Microsoft plan with email, Teams and storage on your own domain. If you only need email, cPanel email with hosting is cheaper still, and we'll tell you if that's the better fit.
Can I upgrade to Standard or Premium later?
Yes, at any time and per person. Nothing is lost when you move up, because the mailbox and files stay where they are.
Do I need any technical knowledge?
No. We do the setup, the domain records and the migration. Your team signs in with their email address and a password, and we handle it if something goes wrong.
